A Mississippi woman used the power of the Internet to find a long-lost friend who she met on vacation 12 years ago.
Brianna Cry, 19, said she was looking through old family scrapbooks when she found a picture of herself as a youngster with another girl she met on a dinner cruise in Hawaii. Cry said they were best friends for the night and tasked Twitter with helping her find her.
“Hey twitter, I met this girl on a dinner cruise in Hawaii in 2006. We were basically best friends for that night so I need y’all to help me find my best friend cause I miss her and I need to see how she’s doing now. Please retweet this so we can be reunited,” Cry wrote in a tweet.
In hours, the post was retweeted more than 99,000 times. “Umm, this was at nine retweets when I fell asleep. So I’m looking for a husband as well so y’all can try to find him too while y’all search for girly,” she joked.

Five hours later, her friend had been found.
“Heard you were looking for me,” a woman responded in a selfie with a picture of her family on what looks like the same cruise.
“Omg my heart is so happy,” Brianna replied.
It’s too soon to tell if there will be a physical reunion, as the two women live in different states. But Twitter users, invested in the girls’ relationship have set up a GoFundMe page to bring the girls together.
The accounts are not verified, therefore it’s best not to donate.
