With colder weather continuing, several warming shelters are opening for those in need

(WFXR) – Another chilly night is in store for the region.

In hopes to provide those who may be stuck out in the cold, some shelters have opened up in the region.

Heading into the upcoming weekend, temperatures are forecast to drastically drop to dangerous levels, so planning ahead is always going to help in the long-run.

Warming Shelters:

  • Lynchburg – Salvation Army, 2215 Park Avenue
  • Martinsville – MHC Warming Center, 725 Beechnut Lane
  • Roanoke – Rescue Mission, 402 Fourth Street SE
  • Roanoke – RAM House, 824 Campbell Avenue SW

Both the Roanoke Rescue Mission and the RAM (Roanoke Area Ministries) are open for men and women. The Rescue Mission is open for overnight guests and the RAM House is open during the day.
