WINOA USA plant shut down in Bedford

Local News

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – The WINOA USA industrial plant in Bedford has closed its facility on Tuesday.

A total of 38 employees are impacted by this closure.

WINOA USA’s Bedford plant was a manufacturer of steel abrasives.

Representatives from the Virginia Career Works Lynchburg Center and the Virginia Employment Commission, as well as the town of Bedford Economic Development Authority, met with employees earlier in June to provide them with information about available resources, including job search assistance as well as financial support for education and skills training in a new career field.

Workers who are impacted are encouraged to register with the Virginia Workforce Connection where they can be matched and referred to available jobs that coordinate with their skills and qualifications.
