WFXR spends day volunteering for Nexstar’s Founder’s Day of Caring

Local News

Nexstar, the parent company of WFXR, celebrated its 23rd anniversary Monday. In celebration of the occasion, Nexstar employees throughout the nation volunteered for local charitable causes of their choosing.

Nexstar allows each employee to receive up to four hours of paid volunteer time on its Founder’s Day of Caring.

WFXR employees spent the day volunteering for two organizations-New Freedom Farm, a Buchanan nonprofit that helps veterans with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse and provides a safe haven for horses, as well as the West End Center for Youth-a Roanoke nonprofit that provides educational and developmental services to children.

To volunteer for either organization, visit New Freedom Farm or West End Center for Youth.
