Pinpoint Weather: Cool start to the weekend under sunny and dry conditions

Mostly clear skies today as the region is under the influence of a dry northwesterly flow of air. The cool pattern will be slightly warmer than Friday with highs topping out in the low 50s as Friday only saw upper 40s and only a few low 50s. Enjoy the quiet pattern this weekend as there have been precious few dry weekends this year.

(WFXR) -- The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is warning people of an invasive species being found on a popular aquarium accessory.

Anyone who has recently purchased live marimo moss balls should check to see if they are contaminated with invasive zebra mussels. These moss balls are commonly sold for aquarium use under trade names such as “Betta Buddy” and “Mini Marimo Moss Balls.”
