West Virginia man killed in Alleghany County crash

One person is dead after a crash in Alleghany County.  

It happened on November 30th at 11:05 p.m. on Interstate 64.  

A Nissan Murano was going east in I-64 at mile marker 5 when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the road into the median and overturned several times, ejecting the driver. 

The driver, 26-yesr-old Timothy Vallandingham from Caldwell, West Virginia, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police Senior Trooper S. W. Alban is investigating a single vehicle crash which occurred November 30, 2017 at 11:05 p.m. on Interstate 64 in Alleghany County.

A 2007 Nissan Murano was traveling east on Interstate 64 at the 5 mile marker when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, then ran off the left side of the roadway into the median. The vehicle overturned several times ejecting the driver.

The Nissan was driven by Timothy Chad Vallandingham, 26, of Caldwell, WV. Mr. Vallandingham was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
