Waterford Upstart Summer Learning Path offers free education for rising kindergarten students

Local News

(WFXR) — Because of the coronavirus pandemic, there is concern that many preschool-aged children will not be ready for kindergarten in the fall.

Research has shown that students who enter kindergarten without certain key skills are less likely to graduate high school.

You may not know it, but a program geared toward making it easier for preschoolers to learn from home is available for free for parents here in Virginia.

Not only does the program help with school subjects, but it also helps parents break down social and emotional topics as well.

The program is called Waterford Upstart Summer Learning Path, which Waterford national spokesperson Kim Fischer discussed with WFXR News on Wednesday, March 17.

Registration for Waterford Upstart is currently underway. To learn more about this free kindergarten readiness program, follow this link.
