(WFXR) — One man was arrested after leading deputies and state troopers on a pursuit through Pittsylvania County and Campbell County Sunday afternoon, as well as damaging two law enforcement vehicles.

According to Virginia State Police, deputies with the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office began a pursuit at approximately 1:22 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, that continued north along Route 29 into Campbell County.

During the course of the pursuit, police say the suspect vehicle — a 2010 Nissan Altima — hit one of the deputy’s vehicles, as well as a state trooper’s vehicle.

The driver of the suspect vehicle reportedly lost control in the northbound lanes, spun around, and ran off into the median near Calohan Road.

Authorities say they took the driver — identified as Shane Wilson of Evington — into custody without further incident.

Police say the pursuit did not result in any injuries to law enforcement personnel, to Wilson, or to his passenger.

Virginia State Police say Wilson was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation and charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

However, the incident is still under investigation.
