FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police are continuing to investigate a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that took place Friday evening on Snow Creek Road (Route 890), leaving three people injured.

The motorcycle’s operator and passenger — identified as 30-year-old Richard L. Boyce, Jr. and 29-year-old Chastedy R. Boyce, both of Bassett — were thrown from their motorcycle when a westbound 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser crossed the center line on Snow Creek Road and collided with the 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Friday, June 18.

The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to run off the side of the road and strike a tree.

The two individuals on the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, but they were flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 52-year-old driver of the Toyota has not been identified. However, police say she was wearing a seatbelt at the time and was brought to the hospital via ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

VSP says charges are pending as the crash remains under investigation.
