Virginia State Police investigating Henry County crash; one man dead

HENRY COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality.

The crash occurred Thursday, August 6 at 11:25 p.m. on Route 57, just east of Route 653 in Henry County.

A Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Route 57, when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Ford Escape head-on.

Michael Leon Hall, Jr. of Bassett, Va. was driving the Toyota. He was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The Ford was driven by Larry O. Goard of University Place, Wash. Goard was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to an area hospital for injuries.

The crash remains under investigation
