UPDATE: Man dies after car found down embankment in Henry County

UPDATE 5:00 p.m. WFXR News has a reporter on-scene who was able to confirm that one male occupant was in the vehicle that was found down an embankment in Henry County on Thursday.

Authorities are saying the vehicle ran off the road, down an embankment, hit and tree, and rolled.

Police say the vehicle may have been there for at least one full day before it was spotted by passersby who were reportedly searching for a missing Martinsville man.

There is no indication what may have caused the crash.

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Police are actively investigating after a vehicle was located down an embankment in Henry County.

According to Colonel Steve Eanes, a 911 call came in at 12:58 p.m. Thursday after passersby saw a vehicle down an embankment along River Road in Fieldale.

Police have confirmed that one person was found inside of the vehicle, but police would not confirm the condition of that person.
