Virginia honors Song of the Mountains

The state of Virginia is honoring the television series, Song of the Mountains.
The Commonwealth recognized the program as Virginia’s official television series.

Yesterday the State Senate added the bluegrass concert program to Virginia’s official list of emblems and designations.

Every month fans flock to the historic Lincoln Theatre in Marion where producer and performer Tim White hosts the television taping.
In its 13th season, Song of the Mountains airs on more than 120 PBS television stations across the country.
It features local, national and international guest performers as it works to preserve the traditional music of the country.

The next taping is set for Saturday March fourth.
Tim White will join us on Good Day Virginia on Thursday February 23.
