Virginia Citizens Defense League prepares transit for Monday’s gun rally in Richmond

(WFXR) — The Virginia Citizens Defense League organized transportation from all over the Commonwealth to Richmond for the Lobby Day gun rally.

The following buses will leave from all over southwest Virginia on Monday, Jan. 20 for Richmond’s rally:


Stephanie Miller Moir chartered a bus to leave from the Appomattox Farmer’s Bank at 169 Old Courthouse Road at 6 a.m. Register for a seat here.


A bus chartered by Stephanie Miller Moir is scheduled to leave from the Tractor Supply at 1128 E Lynchburg Salem Turnpike in Bedford at 5 a.m. Sign up here.


A bus will leave from 2005 Roanoke Street in Christiansburg at 4:15 a.m. and is estimated to arrive in Richmond at 8 a.m. and head back at 2 p.m.

Seats cost $40 per person and can be reserved by calling Al Smith at (540) 230-6221.


The Pittsylvania County Republican Committee has arranged for a bus to depart from the White Oak Worship Center at 8465 US-29 in Blairs.

The bus will leave for Richmond at 5 a.m. and head back to Danville at 2 p.m. Those interested in riding should follow this link and be ready to pay $35 per seat.


New River Sports is chartering a bus that will leave from 3376 Kirby Road (Frontage Road) in Draper at 3:30 a.m.

Riders will be charged $50 each and should call (540) 980-1133 or email if interested.


A bus will be leaving from the New River Valley Fairgrounds on Route 100 at 3:50 a.m. and should return to Dublin around 6 p.m.

Seats cost $40 per person and can be reserved by calling Al Smith at (540) 230-6221.


SafeSide Tactical has arranged for a bus to leave from 2309 Mayflower Drive in Lynchburg at 5 a.m. For a cost of $35 dollars each, riders who reserve a seat at this link will also get a free “shall not be infringed” t-shirt and coupons from area retailers.

There will also be a bus leaving from Sam’s Club at 3912 Wards Road at 5:30 a.m. for a charge of $35 courtesy of Stephanie Miller Moir. Sign up for a seat here.


Before picking up Lynchburg passengers, SafeSide Tactical’s bus will also pick up passengers from 1201 Shenandoah Avenue NW in Roanoke at 4:30 a.m.

There will also be three buses leaving from the Roanoke Park and Ride at Route 1150 (Edgebrook Road) and Route 1128 (Mountain Heights Drive) at 4:30 a.m. The buses will leave from Richmond at 2 p.m. and riders can reserve seats here.

Rocky Mount:

A bus is scheduled to leave from the Rocky Mount Park and Ride at 395 Old Franklin Turnpike at 4 a.m. and leave from Richmond at 2 p.m. Tickets can be reserved here.
