Veteran Drill Team performs at Healing Strides

Local News

The veteran team at Healing Strides performed on the horses for their families and friends. These particular veterans are a part of a group called the “Drill Team” and they have been practicing this performance for weeks. Some members ride three times a week and others may only ride once a week. But, they all come together to show off how far they have come in their therapy. Every branch of the military except for the coast guard was represented. Many of the veterans at Healing Strides use equine therapy for different reasons. “Horses don’t lie and they never let you down,” said Jason Hogancamp, a member of the Drill Team. “And when you’re having a bad day, they’re there for you when you’re having a great day, they’re there for you. Horses do not change from moment to moment, they are just amazing. They feel who you are, what you are, and what you’re going through and they help you through everything without words.”
