UPDATE 3:02 P.M. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — I-81 was shut down for over an hour after a vehicle caught fire in Montgomery County on Sunday afternoon.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says the fire occurred at mile marker 123 in the Brush Harbor area and around 2:52 p.m., the fire was cleared.
The south left shoulder and left lane are now open.
It is unknown if anyone was injured in the incident.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Transportation says drivers can expect delays on Interstate 81 South due to a vehicle fire on August 6.
The fire is at mile marker 123 in the Brush Harbor area. Currently, the south left shoulder and left lane are closed.
Traffic is backed up for approximately three miles. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes of travel.
