Daniel Morrill could have been sitting at the national championship game.

“I had a ticket to stay and I decided I wanted to be in Charlottesville to see the Hoos win so I came back for it because I think it’s going to be more fun here than at the game itself,” says Morrill, a student at UVA.

Morrill, who was at UVA’s final four game against Auburn, thought the experience of watching the championship game would be more memorable in Charlottesville.

“The story behind it would just be unreal if we win it all and I think we’re going to,” says Morrill.

So many fans are planning to watch the game that Boylan Heights,a Charlottesville restaurant and bar, sold a limited number of tickets to its watch party.

“We had an agreement with the Fire Marshall because during the elite eight game we got a little over capacity and we were going to get in a little bit of trouble for that,” says Jared Bagwell, a server and bartender at Boylan Heights.

The 200 tickets sold out in under a minute. Maybe because the UVA fans realize how special this moment is.

“I just want to enjoy it while it’s here because tomorrow we’re either going to be really sad or celebrating,” says UVA student Alex Ratajczak.

The game tips off at 9:20 p.m. Monday night.
