Upgrades and changes coming to the Danville Courthouse

Local News

The James F. Ingram Justice Center (Danville Courthouse) has recently received several security upgrades.

The project includes an entrance hallway inside the front foyer of the courthouse.

The front foyer of the courthouse will feature a state of the art X-Ray machine to compliment the existing metal detectors.

The design of the hallway will direct the public to the right or left dependent upon the volume of anticipated pedestrian traffic that day.

For example, on a day where there is a jury trial, both sides will be open and manned by a deputy.

Additionally, the front doors to the courthouse were modified with glass to improve safety and security.

The new entrance opens on Monday, September 19, 2016.

Electronic devices such as cell phones will not be allowed in the courthouse for members of the general public.
