UPDATE: Two men arrested for Martinsville shooting

UPDATE (5/1618) – Both Brandon Thomas and Adrian Watkins have been arrested. 

According to a spokesperson, police got a tip that both men were in Roanoke and they were arrested without incident early Wednesday morning.  

They are currently being held without bond in the Roanoke City Jail and will be transported to the Martinsville City Jail. 


UPDATE (5/14/18) – We now know the name of a man who was killed in Martinsville over the weekend.  

The Deputy Police Chief tells WFXR News that 20-year-old Sean Demetrius Goddard Junior died on Monday morning. 

The suspects in this case are now facing charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. 

Police say the suspects knew the victim but they are considered armed and dangerous. 

It is also believed that both Brandon Thomas and Adrian Watkins are still in the area. If you see them, or know where they are, please call police. 


Martinsville Police say a shooting took place Sunday morning at around 12:40 AM on Askin Street. The victim was taken to SOVAH hospital and is currently in critical condition. Investigators are processing information from the scene and interviewing witnesses. 

Arrest warrants have been issued for Brandon Tarall Thomas and Adrian Eugene Watkins on multiple cahrges, included attempted 1st degree murder, shooting a firearm into an occupied dwelling, and discharging a firearm.
