UPDATE: Henry Jordan, Senior has died from his injuries.
According to the Roanoke Police Department, he passed away on Sunday morning.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
UPDATE: We now know the name of the pedestrian that was hit on Brandon Avenue in Roanoke on Friday.
Police say Henry Jordan, Senior was hit by a car that was going west when the driver lost control. The car also left the road and onto the property of Brandon Oaks retirement community where it hit a building.
Both Jordan and the driver of the car were taken to the hospital.
The driver is cooperating with police, and may have had a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of his car. Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the crash.
The commonwealth’s attorney will determine if any charges will be filed.

An accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian happened at 7:08 am in the 3900 block of Brandon Avenue SW. The pedestrian, identified as Henry David Jordan Sr., age 71, of Roanoke was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was headed westbound on Brandon when it lost control and struck Jordan. The vehicle left the roadway and went onto the property of Brandon Oaks retirement community where it struck a building. Jordan was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The driver was taken to Lewis Gale Medical Center. The driver is cooperating with the investigation and may have experienced a medical emergency that resulted in him losing control of the vehicle. At this time alcohol and speed do not appear to have been a factor in the crash. Jordan is not a resident of Brandon Oaks. The crash is still under investigation. The commonwealth’s attorney’s office will decide what charges, if any, are applicable following the completion of the investigation.
Two people were hurt after an accident in Roanoke on Friday.
It happened just after 7 a.m. in the 3900 block of Brandon Avenue, SW.
Roanoke police say the crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. Both the driver and pedestrian were both taken to the hospital. The pedestrian is said to have serious injuries.
Brandon Avenue will be closed between Deyerle Road and Peters Creek Road for the next several hours as the investigation continues.
Police say the driver of the vehicle also hit a building owned by Brandon Oaks Life Plan Community.
Brandon Oaks says the building is one of the residential homes on the property, there was one person in the home at the time of the accident but he was not injured.
Neither the driver of the car or the pedestrian that was hit are residents of or employed by Brandon Oaks.
