UPDATE: According to online court records, two suspects in a Wythe County double homicide case are facing more charges.
On Monday, April 16, a grand jury handed down indictments against Hunter Armbrister and Jared Stephens, who are already awaiting trial in the death’s of Aidan Dawson and his friend Ray Rodriguez.
The grand jury indicted both Armbrister and Stephens on two counts of felony homicide, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and one count of conspiracy to distribute drugs.
Previous charges against Stephens include two counts of being an accessory after the fact to capital murder. Armbrister had previously been charged with being an accessory after the fact and disposing of the bodies.
Also charged in the double homicide case is 18-year-old Dylan McGlothlin.
The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three teenage suspects in relation to two homicides.
Deputies tell WFXR News a male juvenile was reported missing from Wytheville on November 30th. Family members have confirmed that missing juvenile was 17-year-old Aidan Dawson of Wytheville.
On December 5, the sheriff’s office got a tip related to the missing juvenile. This led investigators to a residence in the 1800 block of Reed Creek Drive on the eastern end of Wythe County.
It’s at that home deputies said they found two dead.
One of them was identified as Dawson. The other was 24-year-old Raymond Lewis Rodriguez of the Austinville community.
18-year-old Dylan Alexander McGlothlin of Max Meadows is being charged with Capital Murder for the deaths of the juvenile and Rodriguez, two counts of the use of a firearm in the commission of murder and two counts of the disposal of a body.
19-year-old Jared Stephens of Austinville is being charged with accessory after the fact to Capital Murder of both Rodriguez and the juvenile.
18-year-old Hunter Armbrister of Max Meadows is being charged with the accessory after the fact to Capital Murder of both Rodriguez and the juvenile, two counts of attempted disposal or altering of a dead body, and transport, secret, conceal or alter dead body.
Authorities have not released the identity of the juvenile found dead.
