Two people are in custody after a pursuit

Nelson County, Va. (WFXR) – A man and a woman are both facing charges after an early morning pursuit.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was trying to stop a car for erratic driving on River Rd. The vehicle continued to take off and a pursuit began.

The chase stretched to Albermarle County and ended in Banjo Lane when the suspect driver, 28 – year – old Timothy Herman Massie intentionally hit the deputy’s car.

The crash caused airbag deployment in both vehicles and Massie to flee on foot. Car passenger 30 – year – old Elizabeth Autumn Hensley was taken to custody.

A search began for Massie. Deputies found him hiding in underbrush and he was taken into custody. They also found methamphetamine and drug distribution equipment when the car was searched.

After the collision, Deputy Ross and Hensley were both treated and released from the hospital.
