ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke Police Department has released further details regarding the shooting that occurred at West Apartments on November 20, which injured two people.

According to RPD, around 8:20 p.m. on Monday, an officer heard multiple gunshots while working at the intersection of 30th Street and Salem Turnpike NW. A ‘shots fired’ call was then received at the West Appartements located at the 700 block of 29th Street.

The officer responded to the scene and found a man outside of a home with serious gunshot wounds. Additional officers responded and life-saving measures were immediately given to the victim until Roanoke Fire-EMS arrived. The man was then taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

While on scene, a woman was also found inside a home in the area with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. She was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Investigators believe a fight occurred between the male victim and another unidentified individual, which escalated into the shooting. Police believe the suspect and the victim know each other this is an isolated incident.

The investigation is ongoing; however, no arrests have been made at this time and further details are limited. ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Two people were injured Monday night in a shooting in the 700 block of 29th Street NW, in Roanoke.

According to police, the shots fired call at the 733 West Apartments came in at around 8:15 p.m.

The two people shot, a man and a woman, were taken to the hospital and are in critical but stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made. According to police, there is no threat to the public.
