According to Virginia State Police, the 19-year-old driver responsible for hitting a Pittsylvania County bus head-on Wednesday afternoon is charged with reckless driving.
Corey Reynolds was traveling west on Banister Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line, hitting the bus.
Reynolds was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.
15 students were on board the bus. One injury was originally reported, by VSP says that student was not injured.
Virginia State Police is also investigating a second crash that happened approximately 15 minutes later on Route 829.
67-year-old Larry Norris, of Danville, failed to yield the right of way when he struck the bus.
Norris was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. He’s charged with failing to yield the right of way.
Several students were on board, but no injuries were reported.
