Trial dates set for Christiansburg woman accused of making child porn, sexually assaulting two-year-old son

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – A Christiansburg woman will get a jury trial after being charged with multiple crimes including making child pornography and assaulting her young son who died in January 2019.

Kayla Nicole Thomas appeared in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Thursday. She faces the following charges:

  • Forcible sodomy by engaging in fellatio against the victim’s will by force, threat, or intimidation
  • Inanimate object penetration of a person less than 13 years of age
  • Possession of child pornography
  • Possession and distribution of child pornography
  • Being a parent or guardian, committing a willful act so gross and wanton as to show a reckless disregard for human life-child neglect

Thomas’ jury trial will begin on Jan. 20, 2021 and will last for three days.

Thomas’ boyfriend, McKenzie Hellman also faces multiple charges including:

  • Reproducing child pornography
  • Producing child pornography
  • Possessing child pornography
  • Object Sexual Penetration
  • Murder

Hellman will go to trial Oct. 6.
