UPDATE 9:05 P.M.: Three people are injured after a tractor-trailer crash along I-81 South in Pulaski County Monday evening.
Virginia State Police says troopers were dispatched at 6:12 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14 to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Pulaski County.
Police say two tractor-trailers collided in the southbound lanes of I-81 at the 88 mile marker. At least one reportedly overturned when it struck an embankment.
According to officials, two people were transported to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center via ambulance while another person was flown by helicopter to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers are currently on scene for this ongoing investigation.
PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A tractor-trailer crash is causing delays on Interstate 81 in Pulaski County.
According to VDOT 511, the crash is at mile marker 88.5 on I-81 South.
The southbound right lane and right shoulder are closed.
Traffic backups are approximately two miles.
