Three additional arrests made in connection to unlawful activity during Lynchburg protests

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department has arrested three additional individuals in connection to unlawful activity during recent protests.

On Tuesday, June 2, officers took 33-year-old Brian Lamont Davis of Campbell County into custody on one felony charge of inciting a riot. 

On Wednesday, June 3, officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Service took 29-year-old William Angelo Shanks of Lynchburg into custody on the following charges:

  • Threats to bomb or damage a building
  • Two counts of destruction of property
  • Conspiring to incite a riot
  • Injury to property or person in a riot
  • Failing to disperse in a riot
  • Riot in connection with the unlawful activity on the night of Sunday, May 31

Also on Wednesday, members of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office took a 14-year-old boy into custody on the following charges:

  • Possession of firearm by a convicted felon
  • Willfully discharging a firearm in a public place
  • Reckless handling of a firearm in connection with one of the shootings near Miller Park on the night of Monday, June 1
