ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Listeners of local radio have been gravitating to local personalities as a way to escape…even for a few minutes.
Statistics from Nielsen Audio ranks radio stations’ popularity and the most recent rankings put 94.9 Star Country as the most-listened-to radio station in the Roanoke-Lynchburg area.
Right behind Star Country are both Q-99 and K-92 which also performed well.
All three stations are owned by Mel Wheeler Broadcasting and have held three of the top six positions for more than eleven years.
The ranking of the Top 10 stations in the Roanoke-Lynchburg market is shown below.
