Local News

The Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection has reached capacity for large stray and owner relinquished dogs. RCACP says that all kennels are at full capacity at this time and both large and stray dogs are available for adoption.

Shelter leaders say if you are missing your dog companion, please come to the shelter located at 1510 Baldwin Avenue, NE, to see if your dog is at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please visit RCACP so that the kennel space can be made available for the additional dogs that are brought in. In addition, if you are considering owner relinquishing your dog, please contact RCACP about options to keep your dog in a loving home.

RCACP is required by law to keep all dogs brought into the shelter for the required stray hold time: 5 or 10 days depending on the information that is brought in with the animal.

If you are missing a pet you should visit the shelter to ensure that your pet is safely reunited with you. If you are looking for a new best friends, please go to the shelter and let RCACP help you find your match.
