ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — For the next three years, former inmates in the Virginia Highlands will have some help transitioning back to society.

Total Action for Progress (TAP) received half a million dollars from the Department of Justice as part of the “Second Chance Act Community Reentry Program.”

TAP will hold weekly support groups with ex-offenders to help them find jobs, housing, and transportation.

TAP will also be able to go inside jails to offer inmates pre-release services.
