Students, adults can explore careers at Rockbridge CareerFest

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — An upcoming career fair will give middle and high school students the opportunity to explore professions available in Rockbridge County and the surrounding area. The event also includes a focus on adult career development with on-site job interviews from potential employers.

At the Rockbridge CareerFest, students will learn in a fun and hands-on way about careers in manufacturing, skill trades, healthcare, information technology, agriculture, education, and public service, according to a statement from the county. They will also learn about possible internship opportunities in the area.

The event, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce serving Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County, will be held at the Virginia Horse Center – Anderson Coliseum on Feb. 18 from 9 a.m – 6 p.m.

Schools are coordinating transportation to the event during the day. Virginia Career Works will take part in the event from 4 – 6 p.m. to provide resources to adults looking to explore new careers or continuing their education, according to the statement.

Childcare will be provided by the Rockbridge Area YMCA during this portion of the event.
