Widening project temporarily closes stretch of Route 794 in Pittsylvania County

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Motorists can expect delays along a section of Route 794 (Old Mine Road) in Pittsylvania County running into next week.

VDOT says Route 794 will be closed to through traffic between Route 40 (West Gretna Road) to the intersection of Route 790 (Piney Road).

Route 794 will be closed daily between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Wednesday, July 7 through Thursday, July 15, as shoulder widening is conducted.

A detour will be in place to account for this temporary closure which will run from Route 40 to Route 799 to Route 790 before returning onto Route 794.
