PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is reporting a road closure and detour that will be in effect due to pavement work on the Danville Bypass, weather permitting.
A section of Route 58 East/Route 29 North in Pittsylvania County will be closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Sunday, June 4 to Monday, June 5. VDOT reports that the closure may occur again the next night on Monday, June 5 to Tuesday, June 6 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
A detour will be in place, which will send Route 58 East/Route 29 North traffic at Route 29 Bus south on Route 29 into North Carolina. Motorists will exit onto Route 700 (Shady Grove Road), turn left, and head north on Route 29 before exiting onto Route 58 East/Route 29 North.
