VSP: Pedestrian flown to hospital after hit by SUV in Henry County

HENRY COUNTY, VA. (WFXR) — A pedestrian was seriously injured Tuesday night after being hit by an SUV in Henry County, according to officials.

Virginia State Police told WFXR News the crash occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19 in the 2600 block of Virginia Avenue in Collinsville.

According to police, the pedestrian stepped out in front of a Chevrolet Suburban and was hit by the SUV. However, the driver reportedly called in the incident and stayed at the scene.

Authorities say the pedestrian was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. There is no word on that person’s condition at this time.
