UPDATE: Senior Alert canceled after missing Henry County woman found safely

UPDATE 12:22 p.m. 5/13/21: The Henry County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday night that a missing woman, 63-year-old Catherine Vernon Stone, has been located.

Virginia State Police officially canceled the Senior Alert on Thursday, May 13, saying Stone was found safely.


HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police has issued a Senior Alert for a woman missing out of Henry County with a cognitive impairment.

The alert comes on behalf of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and was issued at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.

Police say 63-year-old Catherine Vernon Stone was last seen at 7:10 p.m. on Monday, May 10 on Old Liberty Drive in Axton.

She is described as being 5’5″ tall, weighing 170 pounds, and having brown eyes and brown/blonde hair.

According to Virginia State Police, Stone is possibly driving a silver 2011 Chevrolet Impala sedan with Virginia license plates VNX-8534 that is registered to Leesburg.

She is said to suffer from cognitive impairment and her disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety, authorities say.
