PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — After being thrown out of a car and injured during a Sunday evening crash in Pittsylvania County, police say a Danville man has died at the hospital.
According to Virginia State Police, the single-vehicle crash took place shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6 on Route 29, about 0.1 miles north of Route 825 in Pittsylvania County.
Authorities say a 2013 Hyundai Sonata was traveling south on Route 29 when it ran off the right side of the roadway, hit an embankment, and ejected the driver.
The driver — identified by officials as 25-year-old Trey David Stevens — was not wearing his seatbelt and was brought to SOVAH Danville Hospital, where he later died.
As of this writing, police are still investigating this fatal crash.
