UPDATE: Authorities identify ‘person of interest’ in Sunday’s Walmart bomb threat in Martinsville; teen arrested on shoplifting charge

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Henry County authorities have identified a person of interest in the bomb threat from Sunday afternoon in Martinsville.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old James Quallas Carr III — from a last-known address in Rocky Mount — is being sought for questioning surrounding the incident at the Walmart at 976 Commonwealth Boulevard from Sunday, May 16.

Authorities also say that 19-year-old Keegan Blaise Ashbrook was arrested for shoplifting while authorities were working the Walmart bomb threat.

Ashbrook is reportedly being held on a $1,500 secure bond after being charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and concealing a weapon. At this time, authorities do not know whether or not the shoplifting incident is related to the bomb threat.
