UPDATE: Police looking for person of interest in two robberies at Danville stores

UPDATE 6:31 p.m.: Danville Police now have a person of interest in connection with robberies at two different stores — as well as a third attempted robbery — on Wednesday.

Police say they are looking for 54-year-old Donzell M. Coles, who is wanted out of Pittsylvania County for breaking and entering and petit larceny.

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Danville are investigating two Wednesday afternoon robberies at two stores in the city.

According to the Danville Police Department, the first robbery happened at 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9 at a Family Dollar at 2639 North Main Street, followed by another robbery at 1 p.m. at the Dollar General at 2398 West Main Street.

Police say the individual pulled out a firearm in both robberies and left with cash from each store.

Based on surveillance video, authorities say they think the same man robbed both stores. He is described as being man in his late 40s or 50s who has a beard and was wearing dark-colored shorts, a dark shirt, and a mask covering his nose and mouth.

The department shared the following photos of the suspect driving a white Buick from the mid-1990s.
