DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Five Danville residents — three of whom are kids — will be staying with family for a while after Friday morning fire broke out in their home.
The Danville Fire Department says crews responded to a report of a structure fire at 916 Luna Lake Road shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. When the firefighters arrived, they found a single-story home with fire showing from the crawl space and the left rear corner of the house.
The occupant told crewmembers that everyone was outside the home.
The department says crews extinguished the fire using two handlines. Meanwhile, three engines, one ladder truck, one tanker, a safety officer, and one chief officer remained on scene for approximately two hours.
According to fire officials, the house sustained extensive damage from the fire, which was determined to be electrical.
In addition, while no injuries were reported, the department says two adults and three children were displaced. However, they will reportedly be staying with family.
