MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — On Thursday afternoon, Sovah Health Martinsville issued a warning after receiving reports of community members receiving spam calls from a caller pretending to represent Sovah Health.

According to a Facebook post by Sovah Health Martinsville on Thursday, March 18, the prerecorded call — which reportedly comes from a caller ID that says Sovah Health — “threatens legal action for outstanding bills for insurance or purchase. Recipient of call is asked to press 1 immediately.”

Sovah Health officials say this is a fraudulent call and is not actually being made by Sovah Health.

If you or a loved one receives a call such as this, you are asked to hang up the phone.

However, if you’re unsure whether or not the call is actually from Sovah Health, call the main hospital line at (276) 666-7200 to speak with someone who can help you.
