DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke is set to release a Red-tailed Hawk in Danville Tuesday afternoon.
According to the wildlife center, the hawk was brought to them in poor condition several weeks ago from Danville.
“The prognosis was guarded with suspected head trauma which rendered her unable to stand,” the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center said in a statement on Monday, March 1. “However, after receiving several medications and lots of rehab she was able to fly again in just a couple weeks. It’s amazing how well animals can recover if just given the chance!”
The wildlife center says a staff member will conduct the release at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2 at the Johnson Shelter park at 900 Northmont Boulevard in Danville.
