Smith River Fest returns to Martinsville this summer

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – The 13th annual Smith River Fest is scheduled for Aug. 21 at the Smith River Sports Complex, where a fun-packed day for all ages has been planned.

This free, fun and family event is focused on the Smith River and outdoor recreation in Martinsville and Henry County.

This year, the festival will continue to offer many of the attendees’ favorite activities including the Smith River Boat Race, the Helgramite Hustle Mud Run, a petting zoo by Infinity Acres, a casting pond, rock climbing, bounce houses, ademo pool, live music, and a beer garden.

Several new activities have been planned, including free river tubing, yoga by the river, a massage station, a trailside bike repair clinic, a water gun battle station, and magic by illusionist Joseph Young.
