MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — With the Martinsville Henry County SPCA full and local pounds overflowing, now is the perfect time to “Save Two Lives, Adopt One” for free!

From now through Saturday, Aug. 28, the Martinsville Henry County SPCA is waiving adoption fees for cats and kittens, as well as all dogs over six-months-old and over 30 pounds.

“Adoption numbers have fallen, reducing the number of dogs that can be saved at the pounds,” the Martinsville Henry County SPCA wrote on Facebook. “Please adopt your new best friend to save two lives.”

However, you need to submit an adoption application before you can take your new canine or feline companion home. That application can be downloaded online or picked up at the shelter, which is located at 132 Joseph Martin Highway in Martinsville.

You can check out all the furry friends waiting for their “furever” home at the Martinsville Henry County SPCA by following this link.
