Police in Danville search for man wanted in connection with an April 21 shooting

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Police are searching for a Danville man who is wanted in connection with a shooting that took place along Wendell Scott Drive on the afternoon of April 21.

According to the Danville Police Department, at approximately 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, officers responded to a call for shots fired in the 300 block of Wendell Scott Drive.

Police say they canvassed the area and found several shell casings, but there were no reports of any injuries and no signs of any property damage.

After detectives followed up on the case, the department announced on Monday, April 26 that 35-year-old Derrick Lamont Miller had been identified as the shooter. Investigators reportedly obtained several firearm-related felony warrants against him.

Police say Miller remains at large and ask anyone who may have information about this shooting or his whereabouts to call the Danville Police Department at (434) 793-0000.
