MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Martinsville authorities are asking for help from the community following a shooting on Saturday afternoon that left a man injured.
According to the Martinsville Police Department, officers responded to the 700 block of Fourth Street at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, following a report of a person being shot.
Police say the victim — Keland Oneal Shelton — reported an armed man whos face was partially covered kicked in Shelton’s back door, entered the home, and started shooting, injuring Shelton in the process.
The department says the individual ran away from the scene after the shooting.
Meanwhile, Shelton was brought to SOVAH Martinsville before being airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

According to the department, information that leads to the arrest and convection of the suspect(s) in this case is eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.
