Pittsylvania County to resume disconnections of delinquent water, wastewater bills

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Customers who are past due on their water and/or wastewater bills will be subject to disconnection on or after Tuesday, Sept. 28.

The Department of Public Works and Water & Sewage Operations recommends that those who have an outstanding balance with the county plan now to avoid disconnection by paying their outstanding bill or seeking help through the following methods:

  • Establish a payment plan with the Pittsylvania County Treasurer
    • Call 434-432-7960
  • Apply for COVID-19 Municipal Utility Relief Funds

The deadline for Pittsylvania County Public Works customers to apply for relief funds is Nov. 1, 2021.

Payments made in person must be made at the Treasurer’s Office at 11 Bank Street, Courthouse Annex in Chatham. The Treasurer’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
