PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — On Tuesday, the Pittsylvania County School Board voted unanimously to move forward with pursuing a recount on a referendum including a sales tax that was voted down by just 23 votes.
The sales tax would help fund improvements to schools across the district.
According to state law, you can ask for a state-funded recount if there are less than 50 votes separating the winner and loser.
The Virginia Department of Elections says the deadline for results to be certified is Monday, Nov. 15.
