UPDATE: Teen fighting for life at hospital after found shot in the head in Henry County

UPDATE 9:44 a.m.: A teenager is fighting for his life at the hospital after being shot in the head in Henry County overnight.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says a 911 call came in at 1:57 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2 about a person who had been shot on S&L Court in Collinsville.

When deputies arrived at the scene two minutes later, they found 19-year-old Mason Wasoski of Stuart in his vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Wasoski was reportedly airlifted to Roanoke to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the sheriff’s office says investigators are currently processing the scene and following leads in this ongoing case.

COLLINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Henry County deputies are investigating after a person was found with an apparent gunshot wound in Collinsville early Wednesday morning.

The Martinsville 911 Center received a call shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2. Authorities found the victim inside a vehicle off S and L Court in Collinsville.

Dispatch told WFXR News that the victim was taken to a Roanoke hospital for treatment.
