One injured, one issued summons after overnight crash in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — A passenger was injured overnight after a driver reportedly swerved to avoid a deer and ended up crashing in Danville, police say.

The Danville Police Department says the crash occurred on the exit ramp leading from the Danville Expressway onto eastbound South Boston Road at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Friday, April 30.

According to police, the vehicle was towed from the scene and a passenger was brought to the hospital after sustaining a cut to the head.

Meanwhile, the driver was issued a traffic summons for failure to maintain control of the vehicle, the department says.
