DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Thanks to help from the public and teamwork among multiple Virginia and North Carolina law enforcement agencies, a man has been taken into custody in connection with a burglary at a Danville pawn shop earlier this month.

Authorities say Harrell was charged with burglary and grand larceny in Danville before being arrested in North Carolina on Wednesday, Jan. 12.

Several North Carolina law enforcement agencies — including the Caswell County Sheriff’s Department, the Burlington Police Department, and the Greensboro Police Department — along with the Danville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia also assisted with this investigation, according to officials.

Authorities say they recovered of all seven firearms stolen in the Danville burglary, as well as illegal narcotics and other illegal firearms.

In addition, as a result of this burglary investigation, police tell WFXR News that multiple other individuals are now facing various charges related to firearms and narcotics.

“The follow up investigation is still ongoing, but Charlie Harrell is expected to be the only suspect in the burglary at Riverside Pawn,” the department said in Thursday’s statement. “The Danville Police Department would like to thank the community for their continued support and response to solving crime.”
