Man found injured in South Boston trailer park after reports of early morning shooting, police say

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (WFXR) — A man was brought to the hospital early Thursday morning after police found him with apparent gunshot wounds in a South Boston trailer park.

According to the South Boston Police Department, a 911 call came in at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 15 about a shooting on Bane Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 24-year-old man in a trailer home in the Westside Trailer Park.

The victim — identified by police as James Burden, Jr. of South Boston — was brought to Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities say they searched the area around the shooting and collected several items of evidence from the scene.
